What Is Iuveni?

IUVENI (you- vehn-ee) is the patent pending process that allows stylists to change texture and color in the same appointment while repairing damage. We can do this because of a new understanding of the structure of hair. Researchers discovered a new structure called the cell membrane complex, the CMC. This is the protection, glue and healing balm of all living cells. As a hairstylist, I typically lighten (bleach) my own hair because I can do it in a pinch.  And because I cannot see the back of my head I have my children help me or I just take a guess at where the bleach line starts from the previous time.  Of course there is overlap every time and my hair has definitely paid the price.
I typically cannot comb or pick it when it’s wet or the breakage is very significant.  When it’s dry, I try not to use too much heat styling for the same reason.

What Is The Science?

There are naturally occurring biological molecules which have unique chemical properties that make them perfectly suited to provide cohesion and protection. In order for these biological molecules to rebuild and protect the hair, they must be introduced at exactly the right time. When we provide these molecular building blocks at the right time, the hair will rebuild the CMC. 

New research shows that the CMC in hair acts as a natural cohesion or binder. CMC binds the cuticle layers together, the cuticle to the cortex and the cortex fibers together. After a chemical service these holes through the cuticle are left open (and continue to grow larger). 

The degraded CMC leaves the interior of the hair exposed to constant deterioration which means your hair will continually get weaker. The only way to stop this is to close the holes through the cuticle and CMC at the end of the service.

IUVENI researchers perfected the formulation which allow stylists to repair the cuticle and rebuild the CMC back to its natural state. We offer the first and only patent pending product designed to repair the natural protective layers of hair.

Here Is How The Process Works?

This first image is of completely untreated hair, the swatch the sample was taken from is shown next to it. This is normal, undamaged hair.

The second image is hair from the same person that had been bleached and washed according to manufacturer’s direction and then immediately permed. This is the level of damage that stylists and clients have come to accept from this procedure and the reason it is avoided. 

The final image is of hair that went through the IUVENI process of changing texture and color at the same time. The hair was bleached for the same amount of time, the same rods were used. You can see and feel the healthy hair.
